Position Overview
Assesses, migrates, optimizes, secures, and supports enterprise databases throughout cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess database inventory, versions, capacity, licensing, dependencies, performance, backup/recovery, replication, security, and modernization options.
- Plan and execute database migrations, replication, synchronization, validation, cutover, rollback, and post-migration optimization.
- Configure managed database platforms such as Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instance, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle cloud services, Amazon RDS/Aurora, or equivalent.
- Perform data profiling, schema conversion, query optimization, compatibility remediation, performance tuning, indexing, and database security hardening.
- Validate data completeness, integrity, accuracy, referential integrity, and application compatibility after migration.
- Develop backup, disaster recovery, high availability, retention, monitoring, and operational-runbook procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years in database administration, database engineering, or data migration. Strong SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable enterprise-database experience; cloud database migration and managed database experience preferred.
