Position Overview
Leads technical discovery, migration strategy, wave planning, risk management, and target-state design for workloads moving to or between cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead application, infrastructure, and data discovery; identify dependencies, interfaces, performance baselines, licensing constraints, security requirements, and migration risks.
- Classify workloads using the 6Rs: rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retire, or retain.
- Develop migration factory operating models, migration waves, sequencing, resource plans, cutover strategies, rollback plans, and hypercare approaches.
- Define target cloud architecture, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup, and operational requirements for migrated workloads.
- Establish migration validation criteria for functionality, performance, data integrity, security, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Develop migration plans, readiness assessments, cutover runbooks, executive reports, and post-migration lessons learned.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years in IT infrastructure, applications, cloud consulting, or modernization; 4+ years leading application, infrastructure, database, or cloud migration projects. Experience with Azure Migrate, AWS migration tooling, Azure Site Recovery, database migration tools, or equivalent preferred.
