Data Governance and Privacy Specialist

Establishes the policies, roles, processes, metadata practices, data-quality controls, privacy protections, and stewardship model required to manage data as an agency asset.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll own.

  • Develop data governance frameworks, charters, standards, decision rights, stewardship roles, and data-management operating procedures.
  • Implement or configure data catalog, metadata management, lineage, data classification, sensitivity labeling, data-quality, and access-approval capabilities.
  • Define data retention, data sharing, privacy, data residency, data access, and data lifecycle-management policies.
  • Establish data quality rules, profiling procedures, scorecards, issue remediation processes, and governance reporting.
  • Support encryption, tokenization, masking, DLP, fine-grained access control, and audit-log requirements.
  • Develop data inventories, data dictionaries, stewardship training, policy documentation, and governance metrics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience that prepares you for the work.

5+ years in data governance, data management, privacy, records management, compliance, analytics governance, or information management. Knowledge of cataloging, metadata, lineage, classification, quality, privacy, retention, and security practices. CDMP, CIPP, CIPM, DGSP, or related certification preferred.
